Donna Spatidol

My inspiration comes from the sea and all its natural beauty, nature, florals and the freedom and excitement of abstracts. I began painting over 40 years ago while pursuing a degree in Fine Art. After relocating to Cape Cod from NJ, 9 years ago, my passion was ignited to explore a more abstract and intuitive approach to painting.  My brushstrokes and colors reflect my energy and communicate lots of emotion.  Art is emotion and with each painting I hope to evoke a feeling or a memory and in turn speak to a person’s heart in a way they are drawn in and can’t walk away.

Working mostly in acrylics and oil pastels, I begin each painting by journaling or writing a prayer or affirmation on the canvas to set an intention for the painting. This first layer, before any paint is applied, begins the journey of the emotional and intuitive process.

When I'm not painting, you can find me walking in nature with my 2 pups, dancing to spread joy, cold plunging, reading and spending time with my 2 children and their plus ones.
